A Little About Me
Currently living in Des Moines, Iowa, but originally from Waterloo, Iowa. I have also lived in Texas, California, Montana, Seattle, New York City, Vermont, and Istanbul.
As a singer/songwriter my musical style is like a mix-tape, so shooting for a little bit of everything that inspires me, but my most general influences are rock, alternative, and pop. Other notable influences are classic rock, indie, folk, blues, swing, jazz, musical theater, hard rock, and some hip hop and country as well. I perform originals and covers across these influences, covers being mostly from the 50s to today, though a little more from the 60s and 90s. I love finding creative ways of interacting and connecting with every audience, and though my sound is often much more mellow by comparison, it was actually much heavier rock bands from the late 90s that first inspired me to become a musician.
I came to faith in Jesus in 2013 very unexpectedly, changing my entire life completely, and so with it my goals and motivation as an artist as well. I hope to create and perform music that inspires, motivates, and comforts as many people as possible, and whether or not we share the same beliefs.
I am also passionate about helping future generations of artists and musicians to discover and develop their unique gifts as well as hopefully helping make Iowa more of a place where artists and musicians make their home.
